Hybrid Machines

Abstract. In this chapter, a hybrid of machines for both classification and regression are introduced. The hybrid approach is mathematically explained, and it is proven that it is more accurate than the individual methods if the individual methods are not correlated. We applied the hybrid method to two sets of problems, and these were for fault classification in mechanical systems and caller behaviour classification. The results obtained demonstrated that the hybrid method performs better than the individual method.
